Iron Age Crafters, Inc. is a Georgia corporation with two employees.

Harriet studied biology, English and fine arts at Vanderbilt University while Steve went
to Agribusiness school in Alabama. Teaming up, they formed Chestatee Growers, a
wholesale greenhouse providing bedding plants to Atlanta area landscapers. They
owned and managed the greenhouse for thirteen years until  the business was sold,
and then turned to what had long been their avocation, the creation of silhouettes in

In 1997 they moved their home and studio to the top of Lookout Mountain, Georgia,
where they can see across the valleys for twenty five miles. They are surrounded by
fields of wildflowers, forests of deer and turkey, frogs, possums, snakes and lakes of
waterfowl. They are visited occasionally by cougars and osprey. Coyotes, wolves, owls
and green herons sing at night.

The pastures of the farm host a herd of eighty goats, a watchful donkey named Sweet,
two Arabian horses, one of which is a seeing eye horse for the blind pot belly pig
named Rooto Rooter. Whang Dang Doodle Pug is the queen of the may and the sofa.

Using the flora and fauna that surround them as models, they have developed the
inventory that exists on this website. New creations are constantly in the works.
Special orders are welcomed.
